Description
Use the SilverRing™ Boutonniere Lateral Support Splint (BLS) to provide extension mobilization while correcting lateral deviation or to block hypertension while correcting lateral deviation. The boutonniere spacer lengthens the splint for better leverage. BLS style may also fit better compared to Lateral Support Splint when the joint is enlarged due to problems like Osteoarthritis. When using on a finger with an enlarged joint, the splint is often slid over the joint sideways and then rotated into the proper orientation. The lateral support, which is the fulcrum point to block deviation, is always placed on the side opposite the direction the finger is deviating. If the finger is bilaterally unstable, the lateral support splint is available with supports on both sides. Bilateral support can also help stop the splint from rotating as much on the finger.
